Last week saw us work with Barbadillo to launch an incredibly rare Sherry over 125 years old
We love a good tipple here at Hope&Glory and last week we were fortunate enough to be able to launch an extremely rare and historic one – an Amontillado Sherry from Barbadillo dating all the way back to 1891, worth £8,000 a bottle.
Prior to launch, we hosted tastings for the Telegraph’s Wine Correspondent Victoria Moore and Olly Smith of the Mail On Sunday (who visited the Barbadillo Bodegas in Spain), bagging some fantastic feature pieces even before the official launch of Versos, which was held at a Grade II listed Edwardian Building just off Parliament Square.
Media spanning the wine, lifestyle and luxury titles flocked to the event, hosted by the Barbadillo family fresh from their home in Spain, to witness the unveiling of the wine and of course to bag themselves the chance to try a small sample – calculated to be worth €47.62 per sip.
In addition to the exclusive features in the Daily Telegraph, Mail on Sunday’s EVENT and Drinks Business, coverage has rolled in, including pieces in the Daily Express, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Decanter and even Vanity Fair’s A List. Alongside of course, the trades (Imbibe, BTN and Drinks Report, for example) and the luxury living sites (including Extravaganzi, Luxpresso, Luxury Launches and Luxatic).
As the team can testify, this is one special wine and we urge you to order yourself a bottle, if you happen to have £8,000 to spare that is …
