This year saw The Macallan launch a new collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney, united by curiosity, respect and admiration for the natural world.
The McCartney sisters’ love of Scotland goes back decades, and their work with the brand stemmed from memories of their Scottish home on the west coast and their time spent at The Macallan Estate.
This collaboration saw the creation of a limited-edition Collection of 11 lifestyle pieces, designed by the sisters and skilfully realised by master artisans and craftspeople. It also featured the creation of the third edition of The Harmony Collection – the limited annual release series which shines a spotlight on the brand’s inherent curiosity and innovative and creative mindset.
The whole collaboration came to life at Rosewood London, where Speyside was brought to the capital through a spectacular “Amber Meadow” installation, featuring an expansive meadow, authentic foliage and a babbling brook, glimpsed through a stone archway. The whole space was lit by a sun-like orb above, creating an amber glow.
To celebrate this epic launch, we wined and dined media and influencers at the gorgeous terrace, delighting them with dishes reflecting the Speyside origins of The Macallan, perfectly paired with specially-created cocktails.
Media greeted the collaboration of the sisters and an iconic brand such as The Macallan with great acclaim. Coverage kicked off with a global exclusive with FT HTSI, featuring an exclusive interview and shoot with the sisters, which also appeared as a double-page feature in the magazine’s October design issue.
This was followed by over 50 pieces of coverage in news and luxury consumer titles including Vanity Fair, City AM, Brummell, Elite Traveler, Shortlist and The Scotsman. The new liquid featured across all key drinks titles, including The Spirits Business, Global Drinks Intel, DRAM and Whisky Intelligence.
