Hope&Glory sets sail with the Big Bang Fair 2015 and finds that the team’s latest story really did float the media’s boat

We’ve been working with our lovely clients at the Big Bang Young Scientists and Engineers Fair 2015 to cook up our latest pre-event moment – another that seeks to inform, engage and entertain the great British public in the name of getting more young people to contemplate careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.

We took to the waves (well, a lake in South London if truth be told) to launch the engineering feat that is the world’s largest paper boat – made in traditional origami style and yet robust enough to take the weight of an adult human being.

The day out on the water has been rewarded handsomely as shots of Morwenna Williams (AKA the great-great-granddaughter of one Isambard Kingdom Brunel and herself an engineer) paddling our creation about have ignited a lot of media interest.

Coverage online was quick to flow in, with some fantastic coverage across the Daily Mail, Independent, Daily Telegraph (twice)… even BBC News got in on the act … alongside sites that Huffington Post and First News amongst so many others.
