It’s a mere handful of days before the launch of the biggest tournament in world rugby …
So to help celebrate that fact and give the England Rugby team an almighty send-off, our client O2 got 14,500 people, soprano Laura Wright, Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro, Ella Eyre and the legendary Take That down to The O2.
Hope&Glory was on hand to make sure that the event generated as many column inches as possible with the team managing celebrity attendance from Jack Whitehall, Jodie Kidd, Richard Hammond and Carol Vorderman (a massive rugby fan, who knew?) amongst many others.
Over 40 media were also hosted at the event along with more photographers than you could could shake a stick at.
Needless to say, the night didn’t disappoint as fans got to hear a passionate speeches by England coach Stuart Lancaster and the team, before watching the entire England squad join Take That for a grand finale rendition of “Never Forget”.
The coverage didn’t disappoint either – 119 pieces and counting with four separate pieces on the Mail Online (here, here and here) and coverage in The Times, Daily Star, Daily Express, Metro and a host of others.
Alongside the event, the team also got to launch O2’s new above-the-line campaign for the tournament.
Helping host an exclusive preview event at Soho House, journalists were on hand to see O2 literally “Make Them Giants,” as the England team turned into larger versions of themselves courtesy of the man famous for “that” John Lewis ad – Elliot Dear.
Since its launch the media have sung the ad’s praises with The Guardian, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Independent, Evening Standard, Creative Review, Marketing, Campaign, and Sport Industry amongst the 30 titles to cover it so far.
