Fancy watching the Rugby World Cup from a rugby legend’s sofa? The Airbnb team have been launching the chance to do just that

As well as generating really quite remarkable coverage encouraging people to stay in properties listed on the world’s favourite dotcom, Airbnb, we also do a pretty amazing job helping to get people to list their properties on the site.

In the spirit of helping to support supply as well as demand.

So, to mark the launch of a certain major rugby tournament in Japan – and to show that just about anyone can put a property on the site – the Airbnb team has been making rugby fans’ dreams come true by announcing the opportunity to stay at retired player James Haskell’s home.

Lovers of the sport can apply for the exclusive chance to explore the home that James shares with his partner Chloe in a quaint village in Northamptonshire.

The best part about the house – the living room which features two large comfy sofas, alongside a big-screen TV – making it the perfect place to fall back, relax and enjoy the matches.

A photoshoot and some asset creation in hand, we scrummed down to some good, old-fashioned media relations.

Pre-seeded interviews meant we kicked-off with a great selection of coverage in Evening Standard , Daily Mail (twice), Ideal Home and a double-page spread in The Times. Then, for the extra point, further stormers across the likes of Daily Mirror , The Sun and METRO.

Score.
