This week, weโve once again been busy working with CALM to help raise the nationsโ spirits, this time hosting a Mario Kart championship with some pretty big names โ including Normal Peopleโs Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal.
With lockdown lasting longer than anyone imagined, the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) has provided vital help to thousands of people in need. Receiving over 19,000 calls and web chats, it has directly prevented 80 suicides.
To help raise spirits and importantly funds to keep the helpline running, we enlisted the support of a range of celebs to participate in a Mario Kart grand prix โ with Seann Walsh, Jon Richardson and Iain Sterling amongst those competing.
We live streamed the whole thing on Twitch and Instagram Live, racking up over 200,000 views in under two hours.
Coverage for the event was widespread, with the likes of Daily Mail, METRO, Evening Standard, Daily Star and PA covering the news.
Over 200 pieces of coverage later, traffic to the CALM site was up a staggering 39%, whilst over ยฃ3,600 was raised.
