It’s been a busy few months the Airbnb team who have worked with Disney to build a Winnie the Pooh inspired house in the Hundred Acre wood and list it on Airbnb for the ultimate staycation.
As part of the anniversary celebrations of the loveable children’s character, the “Bearbnb” was created and then listed on Airbnb with a limited number of family stays available, giving a lucky few the chance to immerse themselves in the iconic world of Pooh and friends.
We worked with our clients at Airbnb alongside Disney and a host of brilliant production partners to bring the concept to life, from sketch to the finished home.
Situated in Ashdown Forest, we worked with Disney-appointed Winnie the Pooh illustrator, Kim Raymond (who has been drawing the iconic bear for over 30 years), to bring the custom-built house to life, taking inspiration from the original decorations of E.H. Shepard throughout the property, all hand crafted by the fabulous Toy & Robin.
During the stay, guests will be immersed in the magical location and real-life inspiration behind Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood, which is featured so prominently in the stories. They’ll have an exciting itinerary prepared, including a guided tour through the original Hundred Acre Wood, the chance to play Poohsticks on the iconic Poohsticks Bridge and enjoying locally sourced hunny-inspired meals.
It’s fair to say the news has gone down a storm, with 2,000 pieces of coverage across the globe (and continuing to roll in), including the likes of This Morning, BBC London, CNN, Fox News, Daily Telegraph, Metro, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, The Sun, Daily Star and a tonne of others.
Demand for the Bearbnb has been through the roof and we were delighted to be able to host Holly Willoughby for a staycation with her family, ensuring more coverage continued to roll in.
A dream project for the team and delighted to see how well it has gone down.
