And the team was “numb” with excitement (sorry). The UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show presented by Pepsi clashes football and entertainment together to create one epic night, with the world’s most iconic musical acts performing live just minutes before the biggest match in European club football.
Having made a triumphant return to the spotlight with the release of ‘From Zero’, their first new music in seven years, Linkin Park will take its brand-new era to dizzying heights by performing a setlist representing the best of their legacy, past and present, at the Munich Football Arena at the end of May.
To announce this iconic collaboration, Linkin Park composed and recorded an electrifying new track which blends the band’s iconic sound with the culture of European football, incorporating the immediately recognisable riffs of their multi-platinum hit “Numb”, with sounds inspired by UEFA Champions League football – the strike of leather, the whistle of a free kick, and the sounds of the most passionate fans in the world.
A spot of video coverage came exclusively on GOAL, which was syndicated around the world, while bespoke social cuts were posted on Instagram and TikTok to millions of followers.
We then made this global news by securing over 1,500 pieces of earned coverage with an OTS of more than 2.7 billion. Not too bad at all if we may say so. This included national coverage across the Mail Online, The Sun, Daily Mirror and Metro, as well as ticking off all the major music sites Billboard, Kerrang!, NME and Rolling Stone. Marca and Bild couldn’t resist getting involved too!
