Greggs has opened the doors to its first-ever pub, โThe Golden Flake Tavernโ, in partnership with Fenwick, serving up a Geordie twist on the great British boozer.
In what marks the latest chapter in the two North East iconsโ collaboration, following the sell-out Bistro Greggs and the fizz-fuelled Greggs Champagne Bar, this year, theyโve gone one step bigger: creating a full pub experience with unmistakable Greggs flavour.
Inside the Tavern, locals will find a warm, Newcastle-first atmosphere complete with dark-wood booths, commissioned artwork from North East creatives and, of course, a menu that puts Greggs classics at the heart of pub grub.
Guests can tuck into dishes like the Chicken Bake Parmo, a Steak Bake Mixed Grill or Sausage Roll & Mash, while Sunday lunch comes with the ultimate Greggs twist: choosing your bake (Steak, Chicken or Cheese & Onion) as the centrepiece of a carvery roast.
Behind the bar, the fun continues. A Greggs-inspired cocktail menu (the Pink Jammie Fizz is already a fan favourite) is joined by two exclusive brews, Pink Jammie Pale Ale and Gosforth 1939 Stottie Lager, crafted with local heroes Full Circle Brew Co.
And the media couldnโt get enough. From the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph and Daily Mirror to the Daily Star, ITVโs Lorraine and Channel 5 News, the Golden Flake Tavern has pulled in wall-to-wall national coverage, racking up millions in reach and sparking a flood of social chatter. The result?
Tables are vanishing faster than a sausage roll at lunchtime, with reservations already surging and walk-ins queuing round the block until 15 February next year.
