This week has seen the team hit the media to showcase the first festive ad of the season for Argos … complete with elves, super-sleighs and delivery in just four hours

This week we’ve had the joy and pleasure of ensuring that Argos was the retail brand the media talked about as we unveiled their Christmas Ad.

Being one of the first major retailers to go out with a Christmas spot, we wanted to make sure that we set the bar high and also set the agenda: fun and festive frolics as the dominant theme for 2017.

With a launch event at London’s Mondrian to set out the agenda for Crimbo, a whole sequence of interviews with Argos’ senior management teams and then some good, old-fashioned media relations, the ad has landed across the Great British press over the last couple of days – ahead of it airing on the Friday night.

There were stunners on the The Sun (twice), Daily Mirror (twice), METRO, Evening Standard, Daily Mail (twice), Daily Telegraph (twice), CITY AM (twice). And there have been follow-ups across the papers today as we hit the “ads so far” round-ups across the national print media.

Of course the trade media picked up the story as we landed pieces across all the major titles. From Campaign to The Drum, Shots to PR Week and well beyond.

It’s been a cracking start to the retail season for us and Argos. Next up, ensuring the ad themes live on through PR in the lead-up to the big day itself – with the small matter of Black Friday also on the agenda.

Bring on 25 December – it’s going to be action-packed until then!
