The Pokémon team has been celebrating the biggest day of the year with events in London and Paris … and landed over 1,000 pieces of coverage in the process

On 27 February ever year, fans across the globe start preparing for arguably the most anticipated day of the year: Pokémon Day.

The longstanding celebration – which marks the date when the first Pokémon video games were released – is now commemorated with a “Pokémon Presents” in which a host of exciting new updates are revealed via a global livestream.

This year, to mark the anniversary, the team hosted two very special screenings of the Pokémon Presents in London and Paris.

A combination of over 150 media and influencers were treated to bespoke, fully-themed Pokémon events across the two cities including face painting, cotton candy and of course a visit from Pikachu!

Guests tucked into Poké Ball cake-pops and posed up a storm with giant plushies before battling it out at Trading Card Game and Pokémon UNITE gaming stations to see who would become the very best.

To top it off, they also got an exclusive IRL preview of some of the newest products, including the first samples of the upcoming Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet and a reveal of the new Pokémon GO Plus+, designed to work in conjunction with Pokémon Sleep … which literally means you can be counting Mareep as you snooze.

The results? Too many pieces to mention here – all-in-all over 1,000 pieces of editorial coverage across Europe, with hundreds of social posts to boot …
