British cuisine gets a bad rap – with many dishes being branded bland or boring, and many being forgotten altogether.
To challenge the stereotype, we teamed up with Michelin-starred chef and TV personality Tommy Banks to launch a bold, nostalgic menu that celebrates the last 400 years of British culinary history, exclusively on Uber Eats.
Following high-profile partnerships with iconic restaurants including Ynyshir and Ikoyi, the latest launch saw Banks’ menu tour across the UK, bringing a three-course fine dining experience to London, Manchester, and Liverpool for £40 per person.
The menu reimagined regional gems and forgotten classics with a refreshingly contemporary touch, proving the nation’s cuisine deserves global respect alongside French and Italian food.
Chef Banks brought history to life with dishes like the 17th-century favourite Pickled Beef, a wartime-inspired Glamorgan Sausage with a tomato-based bean stew, and a fusion masterpiece: the Chicken Tikka Masala Pie, which combined two of the nation’s most beloved culinary traditions into one comforting main.
It’s fair to say that Uber Eats has once again raised the bar for delivery, with the campaign securing a whopping 235 pieces of coverage … and counting. By making Michelin-starred food accessible and fun, the campaign challenged old stereotypes and proved that British cuisine—from the humble faggot to the festive trifle—deserves a seat at the global table.
