It’s not quite the big day but we’ve still been working like elves to announce the top toys for Christmas 2020

With a little over 4 months to go until the big day, we revealed Argosโ€™ top toy predictions for Christmas 2020.

And with a pooping flamingo, dancing unicorn and LEGO Lamborghini on the list, this year there is a little something for everyone.

Kicking off Christmas in August, we conducted some consumer research around toy shopping habits, finding that lockdown has in fact generated a strong sense of nostalgia for our favourite toys, as more than a fifth planned to gift their child something that conjures memories of their own childhood.

When it came to coverage the team delivered, a lot. Over 60 pieces across national print and online, regional hits, parenting, consumer lifestyle and trade, including Mail Online, Metro, Daily Express, Daily Mirror, House Beautiful and HuffPost.

But it didnโ€™t stop there. Working with the Argos toy buyer Juliet Ward and toy guru Peter Jenkinson from Toyology, we hosted a (remote) radio day to talk all things toys. The day resulted in a whopping 63 interviews with a reach of over 11 million and almost 2.5 hours of air-time, including 9 regional BBC stations and Talk Radio.

Who knew everyone would be so Christmas-ready in August. Better get writing those wish listsโ€ฆ
