It’s been a huge autumn of rugby in Japan and we’ve had a busy last few months helping O2 get the nation behind the England team

Our work with O2’s rugby campaign kicked off back in August where we hosted media at Wear The Rose Live in Bristol with the entire England squad before they set off for Japan, converting some great regional pieces with BBC West, Bristol Observer and Joe.co.uk

Excitement around the tournament elevated further with the launch of O2’s latest TVC ahead of England’s opening match. We hosted an exclusive preview screening for media at Soho House, netting a bucket load of trade coverage in the process, including Campaign’s Pick of the Week, Sport Industry, The Drum, Marketing Week and The Little Black Book among others.

In more ad stuff, we were part of a world first at The O2 Arena during England’s match with Argentina, which saw the first ever live TV ad powered by O2 5G at half time. We dug out our black book of contacts and secured a bunch of media-worthy celebs to join the action, generating some great hits with the like of Daily Mail and Daily Star.

And before we could even pause for breath, England bravely fought their way past New Zealand to the Final, so in a manic final week it was time for one last rallying call when we took samurai warriors to the streets of London to gather more support and give the team one final push. Lovely pieces in the Evening Standard’s picture of the day, Daily Mail (again), Sport Industry and a ton of rugby titles ensued.

Although the boys fell slightly short, we’ve loved every minute. We’re now off for an ice bath and a nap… wake us up when the Six Nations arrives!
