We’ve been helping Uber announce that face coverings are now mandatory for drivers and customers using the Uber app in the UK

We’ve been helping Uber work through the ups and downs of the COVD-9 lockdown for the last three months.

From announcing their support for the NHS to a variety of safety and corporate announcements throughout what has been a pretty weird period.

And, as things are getting back to the “new normal” we’re still on the case landing a tonne of column inches for their safety work – reassuring drivers and riders alike that Uber is taking steps to make the service as safe as possible.

So it was that the team announced last week that face coverings are now going to be mandatory for both drivers and riders who use the Uber app.

A pretty straightforward story, but one that is vital for the brand when it comes to supporting the recovery.

As it was, we hit the ground running and achieved widespread coverage of the announcement – landing with over 130 pieces of coverage.

This included nearly 40 national hits, with standalone pieces across BBC News, Independent, The Daily Telegraph, Daily Star, Daily Mail, This is Money and iNews (amongst many, many others).

The news also went far and wide across the major regional papers, radio and news sites with a mammoth 90 pieces of coverage across those pages.

Another announcement done and dusted and in considerable style.
