For most of us, Christmas means long lazy days in front of the TV, catching up with old friends and quadrupling oneโs normal consumption of all things carby.
But for NHS workers nationwide, the festive season means long shifts looking after other peopleโs loved ones, rather than staying at home with your own family.
To give something back, Uber and Uber Eats are offering free rides and meals to NHS staff working during Christmas week.
As an extra incentive, we teamed up with best-selling author and former junior doctor Adam Kay to give away 1,000 free copies of his new book Twas the Nightshift before Christmas in Ubers in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Inside each book was a card with instructions on how to sign up for the free deal.
The team at Hope & Glory hit the phones and โsleighedโ the coverage, with a blizzard of more than 100 pieces including The Sun, The Mirror, Lad Bible, Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo and Wales Online.
Tens of thousands have already signed up to the offer, making their Christmases that little bit easier this year.
