After 93 editions and over 1 billion copies, the team helped Argos announce (with a heavy heart) that its iconic ‘Book of Dreams’ is being retired after 47 years as tech-savvy Brits move to online shopping.
And it went everywhere…
All the nationals covered the news (multiple times and in print) with pieces on BBC, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Mirror, The Guardian, Independent, Evening Standard and Metro – to name but a few.
Not to mention blanket broadcast coverage with appearances on This Morning, Loose Women, BBC Radio 5 Live, Capital and many many more. All rounded off with some consumer lifestyle farewells, including Esquire, Stylist, Huff Post and LADBible, for good measure.
It wouldn’t be a proper send off without a host of nostalgic features and some appearances from famous faces of catalogues past including Holly Willoughby, Emma Bunton, Tess Daly and even Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The news even had Bill Bailey emotional, and was trending #1 on Twitter as we all shared our memories of the printed icon.
Sweet dreams, book of dreams …
