“We Will Meet Again” – a socially distanced postcard from our friends down-under and Tourism Australia

Last December there were 118,500 visitors to Australia from the UK. Obviously, this year is different.

To send a message of hope to the friends and relatives that we are missing this year, Tourism Australia worked with the enigmatic sand artist known as Edward โ€˜the Banksy of Barrow Head’. Together we created a 90 metre long Christmas Card in the sand of an Australian beach.

The heartfelt message โ€œWe Will Meet Againโ€ struck a chord. As soon as Ladbible and Sky News covered the art there was a huge response with displays of mutual affection between the nations popping up in the sand in both hemispheres.

Tourism Australia Managing Director Phillipa Harrison said, โ€˜like the message in the sand, our separation is only temporaryโ€. We couldnโ€™t have put it better ourselves.
