Too good to be true? It usually is! Airbnb has partnered with online security experts Get Safe Online to fight holiday fraud and keep holidaymakers safe when booking

Despite being perceived as the most self-confident generation when it comes to online safety, a fifth of 18-25 year-olds have experienced holiday fraud, or know someone who has.

Moreover, nearly twice as many men as women believe they could never be duped by a scam.

To tackle this issue and ensure holidaymakers can enjoy their hard-earned trips with peace of mind, Airbnb has partnered with Get Safe Online to release new guides and top tips on how to stay safe when booking.

The UK media has taken up the baton in the bid to keep holidaymakers safe from scams, with the first 12 hours seeing articles land in the Metro, Daily Mail, Independent, Evening Standard plus over 100 pieces of regional coverage.

In the words of Amanda Cupples, Airbnb’s GM for UK and Northern Europe, “We want to make sure these are trips to remember – but for all the right reasons”.
