The not-so-subtle sound of sleigh bells rang out across media-land this week as we hosted the institution that is the Sony Christmas Quiz

We know itโ€™s a little early to get into the festive spirit, but those gift guides wonโ€™t wait forever …

To mark the start of the festive season, the Sony team hosted the annual Sony Christmas quiz, now in its sixth year and something of an institution amongst the tech and lifestyle media community who, as ever, turned out in force to take part in the fun.

The quiz is our way of showcasing the awesome range of Sony products and getting the media hands-on with the kit at just the time when they’re sorting out their recommendations for their Christmas Gift Guides.

Hence, the quiz saw guests tested with some tricky general knowledge questions before taking part in interactive rounds with some of Sonyโ€™s key products.

From the by-now-infamous “Waterproof Walkman Apple Bobbing” to the new Xperia “festive portrait” contest and “Taiko Rhythm Testing” rounds, the quiz saw scores of journalists and influencers battle it out to win some top Sony products at the end of the evening.

The event was a huge success, with attendees including the media titles as diverse as Vogue and the Evening Standard, the BBC and Daily Mirror, alongside a host of influencers including agency (and Sony) friends @dazhaneleah, @justefe, @mattthales and @indiaharl – all there to check out the photography and sound kit.

It was a pretty awesome night. Thought the proof of the pudding will come in the next few months as we battle it out for top spot in the Christmas lists – we’re pretty confident that the media have got Sony towards the top as a result of our big night out!
