It might not be hosting any shows at the moment but The O2 isn’t sitting empty and we’ve been spreading the word

We can always do with a good news story but now, more than ever, it feels important to surround ourselves with tales of positivity.

Ahead of the recent Easter Bank Holiday weekend, our client O2 helped put a smile on our collective faces, announcing that the keys to The O2 were being temporarily handed over to the National Health Service, free of charge, so that the venue could be used as a training facility to help prepare staff who will be working at NHS Nightingale in London.

Now, in PR circles, it’s a truth universally acknowledged that landing a story the afternoon before a long weekend is notoriously tricky!

Unperturbed, the O2 team hit the phones hard, securing over 150 pieces of coverage, including almost blanket pick-up from national newspapers like The Sun, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Evening Standard and Financial Times, alongside wider pieces on the likes of Sky News and a whole array of regional stories.

While we’re all missing the music gigs and live sports events that normally take place at The O2, we can’t think of a better use to put the space to than helping the nation’s health heroes.
