This week we’ve been bringing the internet to the beaches of Britain with the help of the world’s first human Wi-Fi “Hot Spots”.
Led by Olympian Louis Smith and a merry band of men christened “O2 GuyFi,” we unveiled the network’s latest range of Pocket Hotspot devices and helped sun worshippers happily hashtag pictures of hot dog legs, sun-kissed noses and sparkling blue sea.
On (surprisingly) sunshiny days, GuyFi took to Brighton and Southend beaches to deliver fast, reliable and free 4G connections to the thousands of internet-starved beachgoers.
Channeling their inner Bond and the spirit of Baywatch, we captured “inspiring” scenes by the seaside as Louis pulled off some fantastic acrobatics that made our photography fly with the media.
GuyFi has landed over 170 pieces of coverage so far including a splash in Metro and DPS in the Daily Star.
Meanwhile the Daily Mirror has featured the story twice, with the Daily Mail, Yahoo! UK, Heat Online, New Magazine, WhatsOnTV, AOL and multiple regional papers all joining in the fun and celebrating GuyFi and the O2 Pocket Hotspots.
