This week we got to hang out with Team GB.
We don’t tend to get starstruck that often. But we will say it was pretty cool.
Our trip up to adidas HQ in Stockport was all in the name of capturing the kitting out – as over 300 athletes pick up the kit they’ll need for the Winter Olympics which starts in just a few days’ time.
We came up with the idea of capturing the team in an homage to the toy of the 1980s – making the athletes into real life Action Men (and Woman).
After a pretty intense four days of building and then shooting the team as they came through our makeshift studio, we created a pretty awesome suite of assets for a media announcement about the new kit and to be used further down the line in social activity.
As it turned out, a host of the athletes were so delighted they took to their own social channels to share the shoot (thanks one and all).
We also managed to bag some great media coverage for the shoot – with pieces across the Daily Telegraph (twice), a half page in the Evening Standard, The Sun, the front page of the Edinburgh Evening News and a DPS in the Daily Record, amongst a host of others.
And there’ll be plenty more to come.
