They say you should never judge a book by its cover … well here’s a book with a cover that judges you …

We all know the age-old adage that you should never judge a book by its cover – but it seems an especially apt piece of advice when faced with a tome that has been equipped with facial recognition technology.

Brought to life by Amsterdam-based creative agency Moore for the Art Directors Netherlands annual, “The Cover That Judges You” is a judgmental sleeve designed to slip over books.

With a camera, facial recognition software, a screen and an Arduino-controlled bolt, only those who approach this tech-loaded cover with a totally neutral expression will be rewarded with a glance inside …
