Uber has officially taken to the water across London as we’ve been launching the all-new Uber Boat service across the capital

Uber has officially dropped-anchor in the River Thames with a brand new service hitting the capital’s waterways: the all-new “Uber Boat”, which can now be booked in the Uber app.

There will be a magnificent fleet of twenty boats sailing up and down (and through the heart of) London, helping to make the morning and evening commutes that little bit more pleasant as the capital gets back to work.

With iconic Uber branding, the launch is not just another way of showing that Uber is at the heart of urban mobility, the fleet is also a moving billboard for the brand as the boats make their way through the capital.

The first wave of coverage – simply announcing the partnership with a spot of cheeky concept imagery – saw us break the story in The Times. That out of the way and in the bag, we went out far and wide with pieces across the likes of  The Sun, The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, The Sun (again), Daily Mail and Metro. A pretty good haul for a simple announcement story.

For the boat’s inaugural voyage (which took place this week), we set sail with a hit on PA which, in turn, generated over 150 pieces of coverage. No mean feat. From there, we scooped further pieces in the likes of the Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard and Metro (twice no less), and a cracking a feature across TimeOut.

Stunning coverage across the board.
