Is there life on Mars? We sent The Royal Mint’s latest coin into actual Space to find out.
There really was only one way to launch the latest coin in The Royal Mint’s Music Legends series – a coin that celebrates the intergalactic legacy and career of the iconic David Bowie.
Which meant after nine years of Hope&Glory, we FINALLY found a relevant “let’s send it to space!” campaign.
The coin was the first ever to be shot up into space, reaching 35,656m and orbiting for 45 minutes before the Starman safely descended back to earth. And with photography and video content like this, it was no wonder that as soon as we hit the phones, the coverage started to roll in.
The teams at Hope&Glory and The Royal Mint landed some incredible national pieces on the likes of The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, and The Times, and we even made it onto the homepage of the BBC! Not only that, but the team also secured over 170 broadcast hits across ITV News, Lorraine, Good Morning Britain, BBC Radio and Sky News, on top of some stellar consumer pieces such as NME and Billboard.
Now that’s what we call a collection of out of this world coverage. (Sorry – we had to.)
