This summer, we’re offering a two paid Summer Work Placements as a proper introduction to the world of PR and social, and a chance to see what agency life is really all about.
You’ll get properly stuck into agency life, joining a top-class team working on everything from cult collabs for Britain’s favourite bakes, to launching the latest homeware from the world’s biggest furnishing retailer, to hosting media and influencers at gigs, sports events, and even tours of Scotland’s finest whisky distilleries.
If you’re up for it, head to the application form at the bottom of this page. If you have any questions, please email us at summerplacements@hopeandglorypr.com.
About you
Curious about the industry: You’re at the point where you want to find out what creative agency PR and social is really all about. Maybe you’re post-GCSE but haven’t found your dream job and want to try PR, or finishing A-levels and want to get some experience under your belt, between years at uni, or thinking about a career change. No PR experience is required.
Into culture: You’re fascinated by how brands show up in the news, what makes you stop scrolling, and why some stories travel while others don’t.
Ready to get stuck in: You’re happy to have a go, ask questions, and learn by doing. You’ll roll your sleeves up and get involved in everything – from researching stories and meeting media and influencers, to drafting copy, joining client meetings, and jumping into brainstorms to see how creative ideas come to life.
Organised and reliable: You know the basics – turning up on time, following instructions, and keeping track of what you’re working on. You’re comfortable juggling a few tasks and asking for help when you need it.
Open minded: You’re not expecting to be an expert by the end – you’re just here to learn. You want a real view of agency life, from the fast pace and teamwork to the moments where the work is detailed as well as creative.
About the placement
In a nutshell, the Summer Work Placement is a short, paid immersion into how a PR and social agency really works.
Across two weeks, you’ll take part in structured sessions covering the core skills of our work, alongside hands-on tasks and real client projects. You might be researching stories, joining brainstorms, helping with monitoring and reporting, drafting copy, attending events, or shadowing meetings. The aim is to give you a broad, honest view of agency life, with plenty of support and no being thrown in at the deep end.
You’ll have a senior team member looking out for you, with clear structure and support all the way through.
Who it‘s for
You must be aged 18 or over.
The placements are for post-A level leavers, people between years at uni, and career changers exploring PR as a next step. No previous PR or agency experience needed. You just need to be eligible to work in the UK and able to join us in our London office for the full placement.
Dates and time commitment
There are two 2-week placements in 2026, and both placements run from 10 to 21 August. You’ll need to be available for the whole period to apply.
Working hours are usually 09.00 to 18.00, Monday to Friday.
Placements follow our usual Hope&Glory pattern – three days in the office, two days working from anywhere, with structured sessions and agreed tasks throughout.
As with any PR role, there may occasionally be early starts or later finishes around events, but this will always be planned and supervised. In line with our DEI policy, reasonable adjustments can be made where needed.
Pay and support
All placements are paid at the London Living Wage.
We also offer a £250 access grant if accommodation or travel costs would otherwise be a barrier to taking part.
Is this the same as an internship?
No. The Summer Work Placement is a short, exploratory experience to introduce you to the industry and help you decide if PR and social is right for you.
Our Internship Programme is a longer, more advanced route for people ready to move into trainee and Account Executive roles straight after.
There’s no automatic progression from placement to internship. Some people go on to apply in the future, others decide PR isn’t for them – and that’s absolutely fine.

How to apply
Applications for the 2026 Summer Work Placements are open now and applications will close on 26 February 2026.
Please head to this sign up form where there is a short application and answer a question in writing or via video. All applications are reviewed centrally. We can’t accept speculative or informal work experience requests, or applications sent directly to individuals at the agency.
We will simply ask for your details and a response to the following.
We would like you to respond to the statement: “We hear a lot about how AI, technology, and changing working patterns are reshaping the world of work.” How do you think this will change the way people start their careers over the next five years, and what do you think will still matter most that technology cannot replace?
You may either respond in a written 500 word submission or in a three minute video.
