We’ve been working with UNiDAYS to identify the best place to study based on what students really spend their money on…

With Fresher’s Week in full swing, the UNiDAYS team unveiled the best and worst university towns for students in the UK and Ireland, bagging some incredible coverage in the process…

But unlike traditional league tables, this one was based on the cost of the items every student holds dear.

We scoured the nation to find the cost of 12 items students told us were essential to having a good time – think booze, cheesy chips and Uber trips from campus to the club – and compiled a league table of 40 university towns, from cheapest to most expensive.

It turned out that Stirling is the cheapest place to have a good time at university, while Bath is the priciest.

The team hit the phones hard to absolutely smash the sell-in, with standout pieces on the likes of the The Times, Mail Online and ITV.

The story was also picked up by PA, nabbing 135 different titles including AOL, BT, Daily Echo, Belfast Telegraph and Aberdeen Evening Express.
