Getting the nation to #wearitforwarchild with some famous faces donning a band T-shirt to express their support
The O2 Music team have been working with the lovely lot at War Child UK to kick off the “Passport to the Brits Week” which, simply put, is a week of incredible music from huge artists all in aid of raising money for War Child.
War Child, together with O2, has been asking the public to do something really small to make a huge difference: post a selfie wearing their favourite band t-shirt using #WearItForWarChild and the best entries win tickets to the gigs where every single penny raised will directly help child victims of war.
The likes of Florence and the Machine, Coldplay, Jamie XX and Bloc Party are all part of the line-up, with the team heading down to each show to capture the excitement and then getting it out to our friends on the showbiz desks.
We’ve been asking famous faces including Oliver Cheshire, Jack Guinness, Laura Whitmore, Rosie Fortescue and Andy Jordan to pull on their favourite band t-shirts to motivate people to act, donate and help thousands of children across the globe.
Maisie Williams aka Ayra Stark from Game of Thrones even joined in, posting to her 1.8 million Instagram followers and gathering a massive 121K likes in 3 days.
With a week of gigs to go we’re expecting to see a few more familiar faces getting in on the action too.
